Short bio:  Prof. Ricardo Vinuesa is a distinguished scholar and influential figure in the realm of Fluid Mechanics, currently serving as Lead Faculty at the KTH Climate Action Centre. His academic journey commenced with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain, in 2009, followed by Master's and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), Chicago, USA, in 2009-2008 and 2013, respectively.

His career has been marked by a series of notable appointments, including roles as an Associate Professor at KTH and Vice Director of the KTH Digitalization Platform.
Recognized for his outstanding achievements, Prof. Vinuesa has received numerous awards, including the prestigious Göran Gustafsson Foundation Award to Young Researchers in 2020 and the Young Scientist Award from the International Sustainable Aviation and Energy Research Society (SARES) in 2022.

Moreover, Prof. Vinuesa has spearheaded several groundbreaking research projects funded by esteemed organizations like the European Research Council (ERC) and the Swedish Research Council (VR). Notably, his ERC Consolidator Grant project, "DEEPCONTROL," aims at discovering novel control strategies for turbulent wings through deep reinforcement learning.

In addition to his research prowess, Prof. Vinuesa has garnered acclaim for his excellence in teaching and mentorship, earning accolades such as the Best-rated Lecturer in the Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering (MMAE) Department at IIT and the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award.
